At GNO, we are committed to reducing environmental impact through several waste management practices. The advanced electro-coagulation technology in Bengaluru, for efficient effluent treatment is a pioneering method to effectively treat process effluents from various manufacturing plants. This ensures cleaner water discharge, while minimising environmental impact.

We have transitioned from using conventional LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) plastic packaging to compostable polymer alternatives for our non-woven product line, minimising plastic waste.

Our commitment to recycling is evident in our seals and silicon carbide plant, where scrap materials are recycled and reused, minimising waste. Additionally, our tape solutions are engineered to endure extreme environmental conditions while offering reliable performance, making them ideal for renewable energy applications. By adopting industrial processes that emit less CO2, such as solvent-free, UV-cured acrylics, we are minimising our carbon footprint.

Our innovative adhesives and sealants are significantly reducing environmental impact through eco-friendly, non-toxic, water-based formulations with low to zero VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). This significantly lowers harmful emissions while enhancing product safety. Additionally, our thermoplastic solutions are recyclable, promoting a circular economy.

Energy efficiency is another key focus at GNO. Our special bonding tapes enhance energy conservation by reducing reliance on mechanical fasteners in construction, ultimately prolonging the lifespan of building materials and contributing to greener building practices.

At GNO, we are dedicated to smarter production and resource optimization. By reducing paper core thickness and consumption in ADFORS, we have cut CO2 emissions nearly in half. We have also optimised the diameters of our finished goods rolls, decreasing packaging material use. With a redesigned vat size, we have reduced chemical wastage, improving material quality and consistency. By extending roll lengths, we have lowered PNG consumption, which translates to a reduction in CO2 emissions.

Our commitment to energy efficiency is also reflected in our facilities, where we integrate energy efficient equipment and variable frequency drives. These initiatives contribute to reducing energy consumption and enhancing operational sustainability.

Our commitment to alternative energy sources reflects in our efforts to leverage renewable energy sources, such as hydroelectricity and green energy exchanges to power our production process; this aligns with our goal of transitioning to 100% sustainable energy. A Power Purchase Agreement signed in 2023 by our plant in Mora, furthers GNO’s commitment to sustainability by cutting carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency.

In addition to integrating energy efficient equipment and variable frequency drives in our facilities, we utilise alternative energy sources like solar streetlights and implement smart energy management systems to reduce consumption. The transition of our fleet from diesel-fuelled vehicles to cleaner alternative fuel options, has reduced CO2 emissions significantly, improving air quality. These initiatives collectively reinforce our commitment to sustainability while delivering high-performance solutions across various industries.
